Divatosity: 4 Out Of The Ordinary Potluck Themes

Are you looking for inexpensive ways to hang out with family and friends without breaking the bank?  Sure, it is fun to gather the gang together for a huge night on the town.  Perhaps, you dream of cooking up an elaborate gourmet dinner for 15 of your closest friends and family.

Both activities sound like a lot of fun but, they can also wreak havoc on a carefully crafted budget.

Luckily, there are ways in which you can spend time with loved ones without killing your budget.

Consider hosting/organizing an out of the ordinary themed potluck party. I know that in the past potlucks have garnered a bad reputation for being low on delicious or even appetizing food options.

Below are 4 themed potluck parties which will take your entertaining to the next level without killing your budget.

1. Host a morning coffee/breakfast hour.
You provide the coffee and pastry. Your guest can provide a simple breakfast item such as chopped fruit, bacon, eggs, and/or toast. This event is perfect for the day before or after a major holiday.

2.  Picnic potluck lunch
The theme here is all about picnic food. Sandwiches, salads, chopped fruits and veggies, a refreshing beverage, and a simple dessert.

3. Host a Cocktail Hour
Set up a simple menu of cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. Instruct your guests to bring items such as cheese, crackers, mini-sandwiches, and chopped fruits and veggies.

4. Drinks and Desserts
You provide the drinks and flatware. The guests can bring the desserts.

These potluck party suggestions will help you to save money without sacrificing time with loved ones.

Divatosity: Imperfectly Finished

A couple of months ago, I had a spray painting party of sorts...and the results were mixed. I started off with a dark paint that did not contain primer.  It was a disaster. I removed the dark paint and then decided to use a light green as a pop color...but,that was a failure as well. Finally, I chose a pewter color which thankfully covered up my past painting sins.

Divatosity: A Windy Evening

This year Halloween night was blustery and cold. But, we managed to make the best of a windy situation. The kids in our group had a blast trick or treating  and the adults spent a majority of the time laughing with one another. We had just as much fun as the kids. This to me is what Halloween is all about.
