This Christmas Will Be...

Courtesy of Freedigitalphotos.net
This Christmas will be a little more festive than ones in recent years. Mostly, because I am buying a Christmas tree and making a good faith effort this weekend to decorate my apartment.

Last year, my apartment was sparsely furnished and we spent Christmas huddled around a folding table and chairs. The only Christmas decoration hanging up was a wreath.

My lack of furniture did not prevent my guests from enjoying great food and lively conversation.

This year, I have a couch, coffee table chair,  and TV stand. Word on the street is that an ottoman will soon grace my living room as well. But, most importantly I feel more at home here in this apartment than ever before.

Divatosity: Reclaimed Wood

I love the look of reclaimed wood. The color and texture of the wood makes me think of a quaint field with farmhouse in the distance.

Simple Patio Furniture

I scored this simple set of  folding patio furniture from Overstock.com for less than $90.00. It is lovely and easy to store. Patio furniture adds a warm weather element to your balcony, deck, and/or backyard space. Make sure that the patio furniture that you choose actually fits your lifestyle. In other words, buying a whole bunch of patio furniture to use when you are rarely home does not make the best financial sense.  On the other hand, not having any patio furniture when you are the one constantly hosting the summer parties seems kind of silly.

Divatosity: Striped Palettes Are So Much Fun!

This color palette is a good precursor for Spring...which cannot get to the Midwest soon enough. This color palette makes me want to sit outside on the patio of a bistro. I imagine myself seated on an elegant black wrought iron chair surrounded by dear friends.
