Local Farmer's Market...

Yesterday morning, I headed over to the newly established Farmer's Market. To my surprise, it was packed with families, neighbors, and others strolling along the sidewalk. In my estimation, there were about 5-10 booths and even a guitarist crooning out folk music.

Across the street, I witnessed scores of people sitting on benches and chatting with one another. A local donut shop and the cafe next door were packed with people. Over the past year, my small city has started taking steps to becoming more pedestrian friendly.

Divatosity: Reclaimed Wood

I love the look of reclaimed wood. The color and texture of the wood makes me think of a quaint field with farmhouse in the distance.

Divatosity: Neighborhood Art Walk

Last week, I caught the tail end of a neighborhood art fair. Artists were hawking their wares and the once might crowd was beginning to wander back to their cars. The lines at the concession stands were just a few people deep. I took in the scene with a feeling of wonder. 20 years ago, I longed to live in a neighborhood which hosted art fairs on a semi-regular basis. I guess dreams really do come true.
